My Story

I was born and raised in the old logging town of North Fork, California.  There's something about that town I can't put my finger on. It's like a story book and every one you meet is a richly detailed character, and it's the kind of story where you can't quite put your finger on what the message is, it just feels good to read.

I got my Bachelors degree in Forestry, and while I love spending time in the woods, I struggled finding my place in the industry, at least for the time being, There's something calling me to sing and tell stories and bring people together, and I owe it to myself to follow that wherever it may lead.

My own music is a personal project, and I hope you find something you connect with in what I have to say. To name a few of many, my inspirations include the likes of Woody Gutherie, Tyler Childers, George Harrison, and Kate Wolf. I suppose you would call it Folk Music; music of the common people. But more than a musician, I am a storyteller. I learned to sing and play guitar so I could express my stories with the emotion written word can't capture. I tell the universal stories of labor, love, longing, and justice that we all have in common.

What I truly want to do is use music to create community based change: uplift local economies, fund arts programs, and provide a platform for people to share their stories and contribute to the unique culture of our time that will become history. I believe music not only tells the story of where we come from, it allows us to actively write our future.
